Located only twenty-five minutes from New Orleans, Jean Lafitte Swamp and airboat tours allow you to explore Louisiana's back country along its meandering bayous abundant with wildlife and exotic plant life. Trained navigators escort you into the murky waters of Louisiana swamps where you will come face to face with the beauty and beasts of nature.
It was an adventure spotting alligators, turtles and various birds in a natural setting. Most of them were sunning themselves on logs or stumps.
Along with the wildlife I was fascinated by the trees covered in spanish moss. They seemed to be from another world, ethereal almost.
