Description
The Miles Canyon Basalts represent a package of rocks that include various exposures of basaltic lava flows and cones that erupted and flowed across an ancient pre-glacial landscape in south-central Yukon.
The textures and colors add a richness to the scenery as you hike along the river and cross the suspension bridge.
Whitehorse and the river were named as the settlers and travelers believed the churning water looked likes horses' manes.
